Harvard will mail the ballot in early April to all 330,000 alums (anyone with a Harvard/Radcliffe College, Law School, Business School, etc. degree can vote). My name, the name of the other petition candidate, Harvey Silverglate (with whom I am collaborating) and the names of the 8 other candidates nominated by the alumni association, will be on the ballot. The ballot will ask you to vote for up to 6 candidates. The 6 candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected.
You need not vote for 6 candidates. You can vote for two and I urge you to do exactly that - vote just for me and Harvey Silverglate (if you would like to learn more about Harvey, click here). This will significantly increase our chances of winning.
Every vote counts, so we want to contact as many Harvard alums as possible who might be sympathetic to our campaign. If you have friends who you think we should contact, please send their email addresses to freedmancampaign@gmail.com.
If you want to help us even more, begin to assemble your own email list of Harvard alums, to whom you can forward an email we will send you in late March reminding you that the ballots are coming and whom to vote for.
